The extension, refurbishment and remodelling of a Georgian terraced house to provide a modern family home with the spaces and connections required by busy family life.
The house was stripped out and remodelled internally creating a sequence of horizontally and vertically interlocking interior spaces. The existing lower floor was opened up and is animated by the creation of a double height space, connecting it to the ground floor, with other glazed panels creating vistas through the building to the landscaped rear garden.
The existing rear elevation has been rationalised, a conservatory at ground floor level replaced with a frameless glass opening and the kitchen relocated to the lower floor.
